Here is an opportunity (out side of our class work) for you to create a brand mark for a local arts organization.

If a winning design is chosen from the submissions, winner will receive $500 and will be credited on our website.
chashama is a New York City based nonprofit organization that supports communities by transforming temporarily vacant properties into spaces where artists can flourish. By recycling and repurposing buildings in transition, we invest in neighborhoods, foster local talent, and sustain a vast range of creativity, commerce and culture.

chashama’s services are targeted at two main groups: visual and performing artists of all ages and mediums, and the vast demographic of NYC’s arts audiences.
Anyone can enter this contest.
The logo must contain the word chashama and be horizontally aligned
The logo must be memorable in black and white
The logo may be in color but must be memorable in both black and white and color
The logo can be either traditionally or digital drawn, but must be able to be recreated digitally (no sculptures)
The logo may optionally contain the tagline space to create
The logo should visually represent chashama’s mission
We are looking for a hand drawn feel for the design but other styles will also be considered, so do not feel restricted to any one style

No other submission method will be acceptable.
Submission may be watermarked so long as the design of the logo is clearly visible
Submission may be no larger than 1GB in size
Multiple entries are will be considered on an individual basis
All submissions must be entered on or before April 30th, 2012
Artwork and design must be 100% original or have verifiable permission from content creator to use any copywritten material. Failure to follow these restrictions risks disqualification of specified entry.
